Day 14 - Hampton Court Palace

Hampton Court is a royal palace located on the River Thames in south west London. It is one of the many palaces previously owned by Henry VIII, and dates back to the early 16th century. After touring the palace, we took a horse drawn carriage ride around the beautiful Privy Gardens. The trees and bushes resemble gum drops. This garden also has the world's most famous maze, the very one where Sedrick Diggery (of Twilight fame) got killed in one of the Harry Potter movies. The garden view of the palace gives you a clear picture of the two different styles of architecture used to build the castle.

As you know, I've been infatuated with the clocks in England. Well the palace tower is adorned with a clock that shows the time over a 24 hour period as opposed to twelve hour period. Makes sense to me!

I have to tell you about the tree on the right side of the castle. It contained the largest mistletoe plants I have ever seen. It is so sad that the mistletoe will eventually kill this tree.
